ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ partnered with two more community colleges during a visit July 8-9 to North Mississippi – Itawamba Community College and Northeast Mississippi Community College. In both cases, the goal is to make it easier for community college graduates to transition smoothly to ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ.

“We at William Carey have tremendous respect for the community college system in Mississippi. I’ve served on the board of trustees of a community college, and my son graduated from a community college, so I’ve seen first-hand the quality, affordability and commitment shown by our partners in higher education,” said ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ President Ben Burnett.

Under the new agreements, ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ will provide transfer advising, degree planning assistance, scholarship information and financial aid. Flexible course options will be available, including online, hybrid and face-to-face classes. Itawamba and Northeast community college advisors will work alongside ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ teams at recruiting/advising events.

Dr. Ladd Taylor is vice president of ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ’s Tradition campus – and served for many years as vice president of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perkinston campus.

“More than 50 percent of Carey undergraduate students are transfers from community colleges. We will do everything in our power to partner with these great schools and help their graduates achieve their educational and career goals,” Taylor said.

ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ has forged similar partnerships with community colleges all over the state.
